Description

Stephen Marris is a stern man in his mid forites. His salt and pepper hair is short and matches his bushy mustache. He is a brisk man who takes his job of defending the Temple very seriously. Missing his right hand, an injury from the Zhent occupation, his ability to fight has been reduced, but he has been practicing fighting with his left.

In his younger years, Stephen enjoyed to spend his freetime painting murals, and some of the older walls within Lathander's Light still show some of his artowrk. If asked if he paints anymore, Stephen gruffly says, "The Dawn has brought a new day, and with it a new art for me to strive towards."

Motives

The short term goals of the Dawnmaster is the defense of the Temple and the town of Dagger Falls. He knows that the Zhent will not leave his town alone for long, and strives daily to be ready for the next invasion.

A long term goal of the Dawnmaster is go to Lathander, with no regrets.

History

When Stephen came of age, he rose in the ranks of the church quickly, and was second in command to High Morninglord Garren Sania. During the occupation of the Zhents, High Morninglord Sania was slain, and Stephen's right hand was cut off, while clutching his holy symbol. Stephen was left alive, and acted as the high-priest of the temple during the occupation.

High Morninglord Thorne did not arrive in Dagger Falls until after Randal drove off the Zhents. Stephen respects Angela, but does not believe she will be ready physically or mentally, for when the war returns.
