Description

 

Human male, holds himself ramrod straight and wears his dark hair in a short aggressive cut. A few small scars seem to add to his imposing presence rather than detract from it. All of 21 years old, his eyes betray a soul shaped by hard experiences.

Background

 

Family: Demetrius Phlan (Father) runs smithy business, utilitarian products as well as decorative iron. He is partners with his two brothers and together they own a horse breeding operation and a dry goods enterprise. Alexandra Castro (mother) raised Serethin and his three older brothers (Demetrius II, Cornubus, Scylla) in a fairly typical merchant class household. They are not wealthy but firmly above the rabble.

 

Age 14: Begged to be apprenticed to the Emerald Fist. The Emerald Fist is a small mercenary company of Warmages based in Sembia that was recruiting in the Dales. He was accepted by the fist and became a recruit - training at a remote base for four years. By signing up with the Fist he was obligating himself to complete his training and serve for a period of time. If he washed out, he would need to serve as an infantryman in the company for up to five years.

 

Age 18: After his training Serethin graduated and began working off his obligation, acquiring points towards his acceptance as a Journeyman Warmage in the company. He volunteered for any assignment that could end his obligation faster so he could start earning money if he stayed in the company or perhaps could strike out on his own. When the Emerald Fist accepted a contract from the Daggerdale rebels he was selected to be a part of the team sent-it was his first assignment. Because he was constantly on campaign, he has seen more death than many of his peers had at his age.

 

Age 21: Upon receiving his commission, he immediately took a six month leave of absence to return home and see his family and friends. He wrote that he would be returning around (insert day here), that is two days from now.

 

Today: At the time of the first adventure for everyone who has returned to Dagger Falls, Serethin has not actually returned but is expected any day.
